How Do I Sell My Products?

Easier said than done, right? Selling your products is the reason that you're in business. But how do you get people interested? The market is tough, consumers aren't spending the money they were a few years ago, and the competition is fierce. What's a small business owner to do? Here are a few easy steps to help you through.

  1. Tell consumers what it is that makes your business and your products different. Focus on your products' different features. What makes you stand out? Use that as your selling tool.
  2. Reach out to your customers through social networking. Use Facebook and Twitter to let current and potential customers know of changes on your web site, new products, sales, and the likes.
  3. Work with the media. Get local coverage to start, followed by regional and national. Reach out to blogs that discuss products like yours.
  4. Write a press release and get it posted online. Better yet, feed the wire services and specific media contacts, where you'd like to see your products featured, a steady stream of press releases -- just make sure they're newsworthy and have a specific announcement. Press releases need to provide news. If you use them as advertising tools, be assured that editors will simply hit the delete button.
Get started today and enjoy the benefits of seeing your business begin to thrive!

What's the buzz about viral marketing?

You've heard of it. You know you probably need to do it. Heck, we've talked about it often on our blog. But one question remains.

What is viral marketing?

Seriously, what is it? Most people really don't know, even though the term is so widely used among savvy business people like yourself.

Viral marketing is a method of creating "talk" about your product or service through the use of social networking. It employs the use of blogs, Facebook, Twitter, your web site, and other online means to draw attention to your brand name.

Sound easy? You may be amazed to find out that that's not the case. Simply putting up a few Facebook posts really isn't enough and won't do much of anything for your business. It takes a great deal of planning, care, and time to maintain an effective viral marketing campaign. Good writing and the use of effective key words are absolutely crucial. Coordinating all of the social venues is not an easy task, nor is writing good copy to engage your potential customers. Clients have told us that they "get it" when it comes to viral marketing, and that they know they need to do it, but with all other aspects of business, they just don't have time to do it, and do it successfully, to make it work. That's why they rely on us. Libra Design and Media focuses on viral marketing to make your business shine.

Similar to advertising in that it helps create brand awareness, viral marketing has an advantage over advertising because it reaches your potential customer directly. Advertising is a grey area of marketing that reaches only a small percentage of readers that encounter your ad. Viral marketing, on the other hand, works to reach the consumer several times while they're engaged and looking for information. When they're reading their Facebook page or an article, for example, they're engaged in reading. They have time to read, and they're looking for information. Advertising, on the other hand, involves placing your ad amidst other competing ads and editorial content. Use yourself as an example in this quick test. When you read a magazine, are you looking for the ads and remembering them, or are you reading the articles and remembering what the articles said? Can you remember the last magazine that you read, and name 5 different ads with the products they were selling? Viral marketing focuses on using the articles, thus the reason why it's so successful. Our favorite part, though, is that advertising is expensive, while viral marketing is, as the spring birds sing, "cheap, cheap!" Cheesy comment? Yeah, we think so, too, but it's a point well made, and one to remember as you're considering viral marketing. You can do this without breaking the bank.

Though brand awareness is ultimately the most important part of viral marketing, there's also your Google page rank to consider. Go to http://www.checkpagerank.net/ and type in amazon.com. Amazon, one of the most popular web sites on the 'net, is a Page Rank 9, PR9, 9/10, or otherwise stated, has "scored" 9 out of 10 possible page rank "points" based on the popularity of their site.

Now, go to this link again, and type in your own URL. If your site is ranks at a PR5 or below, you need to focus on viral marketing. Viral marketing works to increase your page ranks. We know you already know this, but we'll say it again. The higher your page rank, the more likely your potential customers are going to find you on the internet.

Convinced yet? Basically, the businesses that tend to be the most successful when the economy is down are the ones that are effectively and steadily using viral marketing. Top 5 reasons recapped? Here they are.

5. Viral marketing reaches your potential customers when they're looking for information.

4. Viral marketing reaches your potential customers while they're talking to their friends, or in essence, when they have time to check out your business and talk about it to others.

3. If you don't reach your potential customers while they're on Facebook, you still have other ways of reaching them. There are many viral marketing venues to be used, all of which coordinate with one another to make your campaign successful.

2. Using viral marketing can help increase your Google Page Rank, which will help your potential customers be able to find your easier online.

...and the NUMBER ONE REASON why viral marketing is best for your business is...

1. It's cheap!

Tips for Successful Sales Letters

You have a very short amount of time to reach out and grab your audience when sending a sales letter. We have researched tips on how to create a successful sales letter.

1. Be short. Keep sales letters short, concise and to the point. You literally have 3 seconds to reach the potential client. If your letter looks interesting or unappealing, they'll close or delete it immediately Tell them in one sentence what you can do with them and skip the intros. That can come later in the letter. Letters should be limited to only 4 or 5 sentences. The subject line of an email is where you'll first reach them -- it should be stellar and direct.

2. Be creative. Tell them what you can do for them, and tell them why they need you.

3. Reach out. Let them know you'd love to talk to them.

4. Demonstrate. Tell them what success your other clients have seen because of your work.

5. Specials. Give them an incentive for becoming a client.

Following these simple rules will assist you in reaching out to your target audience in the most effective manner.

Achieving Success Using Viral Marketing And A Public Relations Campaign

We have many clients who have achieved success even during these tight times by enlisting the help of Libra Design and Media. One of our clients, Vegan Chic, was in need of getting the word out about their unique business and its concepts. We began by implementing a fresh, effective public relations campaign that has resulted in highly targeted, national print media exposure, as well as various online articles reaching Vegan Chic’s primary market. As the business grew, the campaign expanded to achieve even better results by adding a successful viral marketing campaign which set about further reaching their audiences through blog articles and postings.

The success Vegan Chic has achieved with our services has been phenomenal! A recent name change dropped their Google ranking to a PR2 but through blog postings achieved with a viral marketing campaign and online product reviews brought about by their public relations campaign, Vegan Chic is back up to aPR5 and climbing in just a few short months. Vegan Chic is near their goal of once again being #1 in Google searches helping potential customers find them quickly and easily. The continued success of articles and reviews of their products has even allowed Vegan Chic to cancel expensive pay-per-click advertising they were paying for without seeing a downturn in sales!

Libra Design and Media would be happy to discuss your business and marketing goals and how our services can help you achieve success. Please feel free to contact us at http://www.libradesignandmedia.com/contact.shtml to ask questions or for a no obligation quote.

Grow Your Green Business

If your business provides eco-friendly products to consumers, now is the perfect time to start or increase your marketing strategy. The December 2008 issue of Entrepreneur magazine reports that though consumers are concerned about the economy, they are still willing to pay more for green products. The issue states from the National Marketing Institute, “When consumers know a business is mindful of the environment, just over 54 percent say they’ll be more likely to buy its products or services.”

Viral marketing in particular is an excellent way for you to promote your green business while greatly reducing your carbon footprint. Public relations involves sample shipments, magazine publishing and other means of communication that require the use of paper and other natural resources. Viral marketing, on the other hand, is a greener way of increasing awareness about your business and product line, while also bringing more traffic to your website. Working through these social networks and creatively reaching your targeted audiences is key when consumers are selective with their spending habits, and we’ve devised a way to effectively, and affordably, reach these consumers.

We at Libra Design and Media enjoy a greener lifestyle and appreciate businesses dedicated to preserving our environment. Please feel free to contact us at http://www.libradesignandmedia.com/contact.shtml for a no obligation quote or to discuss ways in which we can help promote and grow your business. Marketing for the Holidays

While many consumers are watching how they spend their money this holiday season, they will still want to spread cheer by purchasing gifts for friends and family. Now is an excellent time to let consumers know about the products and services you have to offer them.

Marketing your business becomes increasingly important during this time of year since the competition for sales is so high, especially when the economy has seen better days. You can stay on top of the game by making sure as many people as possible think of you and your products when searching for that perfect gift. Viral marketing using blogs is a great way to accomplish this.

At this time of year, we are all inundated with advertisements from companies vying for dollars. While they’re effective in showing the emotions the holidays can evoke, consumers are aware that thousands of dollars have been paid by companies in order to bring them this message, and are selective by what messages they read and retain.

Because we’re living in the age of social networking, people turn to blogs, where they listen to people recommending what they eat, wear and buy. So now, instead of having to rely on companies telling people what to purchase, they turn to blogs for advice, since they are more unbiased and can be paralleled to their friends talking about the “stuff” they buy.

It’s not too late to start a viral marketing campaign. Not only is there still time to get the word out to holiday shoppers, but it will also help you maintain this buzz about your products after the holiday season. After all, we purchase things for the holidays, true, but don’t forget we continue to make purchases year round. Give your business a holiday gift, and start viral marketing today.

Reaching Your Audience Through Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is the process of using word-of-mouth through social network services to help create brand awareness and increase sales.

Social network services are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people tend to turn to an online community for support and advice. In an era where we are overwhelmed with media messages, in an age where Facebook, MySpace and YouTube have become important means of communication, consumers are more likely than ever to turn to their online “peers” to discover what services and products they find helpful. Through viral marketing, which is the process employing word-of-mouth with marketing processes, Libra Design and Media has found great success and proven results in viral marketing through social networking. This social networking is achieved through blogs.

Blogs have become vital in relaying information to a large audience which is why they are becoming an important part in the area of viral marketing. Since people tend to feel close to the blogger and believe in what they say, using blogs to market your products and services is affordable and effective. In these times of a tough economy, viral marketing can help achieve results much faster than through advertising, public relations or other forms of marketing. By affordably employing viral marketing into your plans now, you’ll be that much farther ahead of your competitors, and even farther ahead as the economy improves. Being consistent and persistent with your marketing plans, even when the economy is not doing as well as we’d like, is how your business will survive the tough times.

We have found great success with our clients by using blogs and the viral marketing process. By determining strong keywords with our clients and posting daily articles and comments, we have been able to help our clients spread their message quickly and efficiently while also boosting their Google page rankings.

The results have been proven. In a matter of months, one of our clients recently climbed from a PR2 to a PR5, and is on their way to a PR6, which helped them not only increase their Google page rank, but also increased their web traffic. The increased web traffic has helped them increase their profits, and an expansion is planned for January 2009 -- all while our economy is shaky!

With these proven results, and monthly reports provided that highlight the success of a viral marketing campaign, we are confident you will be able to effectively capture your target audience, create brand awareness and also increase your page ranking with this marketing tool. Better page ranks give you the advantage over your competitor in searches, which can bring more traffic to your web site. The best part is that this service is very affordable.

Contact Libra Design and Media today at

Public Relations for Small Businesses

A public relations campaign, or a PR campaign, is a marketing strategy that is based on working with the media. A highly effective PR campaign can give your business the media exposure it needs and deserves.

Depending on your business' marketing goals, the campaign can be organized in many different ways. Most commonly, small to medium sized businesses are in need of product review articles, web articles and other types of media exposure in this same arena. Through effectively reaching key media persons at various magazines, web sites, ezines, blogs and other media resources, a successful public relations campaign will help your business achieve media exposure. This media exposure can help with bringing traffic to your web site and creating an overall awareness of your business and brands.

With our robust media materials and excellent working relationship with an array of executives, editors and other media staff members, we have effectively and successfully helped a variety of businesses achieve a higher overall awareness in the media. Even during these tough economic times, our clients are enjoying growth and prosperity due to the exposure they receive from their PR campaigns.

A public relations campaign is a perfect fit for any small businesses striving to create name and brand recognition. Because the type of media exposure a PR campaign brings tends to be more valuable than advertising, and costs a fraction of what you'd pay to advertise in any number of national publications, it's a good investment for most any business. A good PR agency will provide a PR report to show the progress of your PR campaign, to include estimated ad values of each type of media exposure received, as well as potential or upcoming articles to be published about your business and products or services.
