- Tell consumers what it is that makes your business and your products different. Focus on your products' different features. What makes you stand out? Use that as your selling tool.
- Reach out to your customers through social networking. Use Facebook and Twitter to let current and potential customers know of changes on your web site, new products, sales, and the likes.
- Work with the media. Get local coverage to start, followed by regional and national. Reach out to blogs that discuss products like yours.
- Write a press release and get it posted online. Better yet, feed the wire services and specific media contacts, where you'd like to see your products featured, a steady stream of press releases -- just make sure they're newsworthy and have a specific announcement. Press releases need to provide news. If you use them as advertising tools, be assured that editors will simply hit the delete button.
